When I was ten-years-old, my mum bought me some polymer clay to keep me amused on the long train journey up to Scotland from Kent to visit my grandparents. It was to be the start of a lifelong love affair with clay modelling.
I bought a wooden box to keep my Fimo in, I put a sticker on the lid and called myself “The Spilt Milk Company”, I made little clay hippies, I made boxes to put them in and I sold them to friends and family. I would happily sit in front of the telly and make loads of little characters and animals. I still do.
I always promised myself that one day the Spilt Milk Company would be a real life grown-up thing. Unfortunately at age 10 it didn't occur to me that the the name made no sense with what I was creating! So Mud Meddling is born, a name which describes exactly what I like to do - sit down and meddle with what is essentially mud, in front of the telly, making little characters and animals, just like when I was ten.
My name is Ali, I live in Kent in England with my husband and my 4-year-old superstar daughter. I am expecting my second baby in December 2010.
I aboslutely love all kinds of crafts, I am always up to something crafty. My other blog Snipsnaphappy's World is about my adventures in sewing and crochet, and every other craft I get into, and how I try and fit them in to my life as a very busy working mum.
